Mysore fines

MYSORE: The following are the fines and suspensions announced for the Mysore races held recently.

On Sept. 27, M. B. Mangalorkar, trainer of Strong Rumours, was fined Rs.2,000 for the inordinate delay in arriving to saddle his charge and Guruprasad, rider of Illusive Girl, was fined Rs.2,000 for crowding the horses soon after the start and also for tightening Royal Filly (Gajender Singh up) approaching the 700m in the second division of the Shimsha Plate (1,100m).

In the first division of the above race P. Krishna, rider of Shubha Mangala, was fined Rs.2,000 for not persevering with his mount during the race.

In the Y. R. Puttannaiah Memorial Gold Cup (div. II), P. Mani, rider of She's A Bird, was fined Rs.2,000 for causing interference twice to Romantic Design soon after the start and again at 1,100 m.

In the first division of this race, R. Biramne, rider of Wellington, was fined Rs.1,000 for excessive use of whip (first infringement).

After holding an enquiry based on the reports of the Stipendiary Stewards, the Stewards of Mysore Race Club, suspended Jockey Ashwin Rao from riding in races from Oct. 8 to 22 (both days inclusive), for unsatisfactory riding on Our Lancer in the Bookmakers Gold Trophy (1,400 m), however they permitted him to ride work.

In the Bakshi Arepur Basappaji Urs Memorial Gold Cup (1,400m), Jagadeesh, rider of Viva Candy, was fined Rs.1,000 for the excessive use of whip.

In the second division of the Jaganmohana Palace Plate (1,400m) held on Sept. 28, C. Krishnan, rider of Young Indian, was fined Rs.2,000 for not maintaining a straight course during the final stages of the race. In the first division of the race, Mahendran, rider of Smell Of Success, was fined Rs.1,000 for not persevering with his mount during the final stages of the race.

In the Margrove Estate Gold Cup (1,800m), Rajesh Babu, rider of Generic Emperor, was fined Rs.1,000 for changing course and travelling wide while rounding the final bend for no apparent reason.

The Stewards fined trainers Hidayath Khan (Noname) and Irfan Ghatala (My Turn) Rs.10,000 each for failing to declare their charges to start for the Kelachandra Mysore 2000 Guineas 2006 (1,600m), after having accepted.

In the Hyderabad Race Club Gold Cup (1,400m), S. Rajesh, rider of Parthenon, was fined Rs.2,000 for shifting out and pushing runners on his outside soon after jumping out of the starting gates.

An enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of the Darius Byramji trained and Suraj Narredu ridden Vesuvio in the Justice P. Medapa Memorial Trophy (div. I).

The Stewards of Mysore Race Club suspended N. Harsha, rider of Janasheen from Oct. 8 to 22 (both days inclusive), for unsatisfactory riding on his mount in the first division of the Original Vel B. Ashok Kumar Memorial Gold Cup (1,200m). He has been permitted to ride work.

Additional race:

The Maharaja's Gold Trophy for 4-y-o and over, a terms race, over 1,600m will be run on Oct. 21.
