Special Correspondent

It will promote energy efficient and eco-friendly buildings

Bangalore: The Confederation of Indian Industry and Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre will organise the fourth Green Building Congress here from October 12 to 15. The objective is to promote energy efficient and eco-friendly buildings, a sector estimated to become a Rs. 2000-crore industry by 2008.

The environment-friendly construction concept began in a small way in 2003 and is expected to reach a floor area of 10 million sq. ft. by the end of 2008, opening up opportunities for stakeholders such as construction industry, architects, builders and manufacturers of material and equipment.
