Probe into functioning of medical college, hospital

BANGALORE: Lokayukta N. Santosh Hegde has asked R. Balasubramanium, president of Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement, H.D. Kote, Mysore District, to look into complaints of maladministration of a medical college and general hospital in Mandya.

According to an official press release, Mr. Hegde was using the services of Mr. Balasubramanium under Section 15 of Karnataka Lokayukta Act. Mr. Balasubramanium will investigate the complaints and submit a report. Mr. Hegde has taken this action following complaints, including one from a legislator.

Mr. Hegde is in the process of utilising services of doctors to supervise the working of government hospitals on a periodical basis. He is planning to take steps to bring in systematic changes in the administration of motor vehicle and forest departments, the press release said.
