Host Women's Christian College retained the volleyball title and St. Mary's College, Tuticorin scored a `double', adding the kho-kho title to the table tennis title, in the Manonmaninam Sundaranar University women's games meet at Nagercoil on Thursday. Holy Cross College, Nagercoil retained the ball badminton title, while Sri Ayyappa College, Nagercoil clinched the kabaddi title. The results: Volleyball: Final: Women Christian College, Nagercoil bt St. Mary's College, Tuticorin 25-23, 25-15, 25-18.Third place: Saraha Tucker College, Palayamkottai bt Holy Cross College, Nagercoil 23-25, 25-20, 25-15, 25-13. Madura College triumphs
Host Madura College retained the Prema Vilas Trophy defeating Sourashtra College by four wickets in the Madruai Kamaraj University `B' Zone inter-collegiate cricket tournament at Madurai on Thursday. The scores: Sourashtra College 139 in 24 overs (Ranjith 49) lost to Madura College 140 for six in 29 overs (Arun 32, Krishnankumar 42 not out).
Carrom league
