NABARD releases Rs.41 crore for 183 projects under RIDF

The bank has disbursed Rs.71.46 crore to Kerala Government

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has released Rs.40.98 crore to the state government for implementing 183 projects under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).

Of this, Rs.27.34 crore is as start-up advance for mobilising resources such as procurement of materials to start work in respect of 118 projects sanctioned under RIDF-XII covering all districts of Kerala, a press release here said. The details are as under:

Rs.20.05 crore for 24 rural road and 23 rural bridge projects implemented by PWD; Rs.1.26 crore for 31 rural road and two bridge projects implemented by local self government (P) department; Rs.2.97 crore for 11 road projects implemented by forest department; Rs.0.25 crore for one road project implemented by tourism department; Rs.2.44 crore for 18 soil and water conservation projects implemented by agriculture department and Rs.0.37 crore in respect of eight flood control projects implemented by KLDC.

The balance of Rs.13.64 crore has been released for implementing 65 ongoing projects being executed by various departments as under. The break-up of the amount is as follows: Rs.12.78 crore for 20 rural road and 36 rural bridge projects in all districts of Kerala by Public Works Department; Rs. 0.69 crore for three drainage and flood protection projects in Thrissur, Ernakulam and Kottayam districts by KLDC, Rs. 0.14 crore for five soil and water conservation projects in Idukki, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts by agriculture department and Rs. 03 crore for one rural road project in Idukki district by CRD.

Nabard has disbursed Rs.71.46 crore to the Kerala Government from April 2006 till date under various tranche of RIDF as against Rs.53.71 crore during the same period last year.
