New sports complex opened

BANGALORE: A new swimming pool and a sports complex were recently inaugurated at the India International School (IIS).

The school believes in giving equitable emphasis on art, craft, curricular activities, games and sports, besides studies.

It always considered sports as not just a peripheral aspect of a child's growth but an integral part of the learning process.

Apart from the new facilities, the school has facilities for football, volleyball, carom, chess, kho-kho and handball.

Olympic weightlifter Satish Rai and swimmer Shikha Tandon inaugurated the swimming pool and sports complex. Sub-divisional magistrate of Bangalore South B. Nagaraj and the former Minister J. Alexander were present.

Parliament

The students of Bangalore Public School, Indiranagar, participated in a "Parliamentary Education Programme" recently. Gnanashekar, chief coordinator of Crede, conducted theoretical and practical classes on the working of Parliament for students of classes IX and X.

Sports day

MES Kishora Kendra conducted annual lower primary sports day recently. The day began with the march past by students of various houses Champak, Jasmine, Lotus and Rose. Principal R.K. Prahlada Rao declared the sports meet open.

The captains of various houses took the oath. Vice-president of the institution Vimala Rangachar gave away prizes to the winners. Headmistress Jayanthi welcomed the gathering.

Interact club

The members of Interact Club of RBANM's High School (Main) elected the office-bearers for 2006-07 recently. Santhosh. S and Karthick R. were elected the president and vice-president respectively.

Ranganath Halthore, chairman of interact committee of the school conducted the elections.
