Bangalore: To promote international trade by local companies, the Exim Club of Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) signed a memorandum of understanding with Visvesvaraya Industrial Trade Centre (VITC), a State Government backed centre for export promotion, here on Monday.

FKCCI president R.C. Purohit and VITC managing director S.B. Kolhar signed and exchanged the documents; the MoU will be valid for two years. The objective is to jointly work and employ their mutual strength to conduct export-related programmes, training, seminars and workshops in Bangalore and other parts of Karnataka. There will also be identification of specific export products and export markets, feasibility studies, exploration and implementation under the Market Access Initiative Scheme of the Union Commerce Ministry.

Mr. Purohit expressed appreciation for VITC joining hands with FKCCI to make it a model of Government-chamber initiative to promote international trade. Mr. Kolhar said it was a historic moment for both and trade and industry would benefit.
