Platform for Indian labs
About 120 companies from India and overseas are expected to participate in Analytica-Anacon to be held in Bangalore from November 16 to 18. The event is going to be a platform for the Indian analysis and laboratory-technology industry. The range of exhibits at Analytica-Anacon will address decision-makers and users in Indian laboratories in the industrial and research sectors. Asia is a large, rapidly growing market for instrumental analysis and laboratory technology, according to a press release from the organisers. Last year Asia's share of global market volume, which totalled over eight billion euros, was less than one-third. Along with China, India is considered one of the most important growth markets for analysis, laboratory-technology, diagnostic and biotechnology solutions in Asia. At present, India is trying hard to combine the strengths of the software industry with modern biotechnology in order to compete in the future market for bioinformatics, and it is aiming for a five per cent share of the overall global market, the release said.
