Farmers package does not figure in Cabinet meeting

NEW DELHI: The Union Cabinet did not take up in its meeting on Thursday the Rehabilitation Package for Farmers in the suicide prone districts of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka.Sources said the package, worked out by the Agriculture Ministry, was sent to the Union Cabinet on Wednesday but it was not listed in Thursday's list of business as Finance Minister P. Chidambaramis abroad. It will be taken up in a subsequent meeting of the Cabinet.
