Scholarship for chess whizkid

TIRUPATI: TVR Vijayaraghavan, an international rated chess player, received a scholarship from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) in connection with his national U-13 bronze medal, which he won at Ahmedabad in 2003.

The Intermediate student won a silver medal in the National School Games held early this year at Vizag and was a participant at the Open Russian Tournament held at Sochi, Russia, where he raised his rating to 2101 as per the FIDE list of September 2006.
