Facility for senior citizens

Sir, — The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has introduced black board, red board and Pushpak buses with different fares. Most of the buses are packed during peak hours. Senior citizens, working in various firms in the city with meagre salary, cannot afford to board Pushpak buses, which are relatively free during that time. The BMTC should allow senior citizens with black board bus passes to travel in all types of buses during peak hours.

Improving station

Sir, — The South Western Railway has decided to take up development works at Krishnarajapuram Railway Station. Illumination of platforms has to be improved and unauthorised structures that have come up in the vicinity should be cleared. The autorickshaw stand can be shifted to a better place for the free movement of passengers. The entrance to the station should be free from hawkers/fruit sellers.

Mobile dispensary

Sir, — Repeated requests for establishing a primary health centre at Andhrahalli in Bangalore have gone in vain. In case it is not feasible to set up a primary health unit, the authorities concerned should arrange for a mobile dispensary which can visit the place twice a week for the benefit of the poor people living in the area.
