Chawla adds to Pakistan's woes

Karachi: Captain Piyush Chawla struck 146 to put India under-19 in command against Pakistan on the second day of the four-day youth cricket `Test' in Peshawar on Thursday.

Chawla and overnight double centurion Tanmay Srivastava (220) led India to an imposing total of 611 for nine declared.

The 17-year old Uttar Pradesh player then returned to pick a crucial wicket as India reduced the host to 109 for six in 38 overs at close.

India won the first `Test' in Rawalpindi by 271 runs.

The scores: India under-19 611 for nine decl. (Tanmay Srivastava 220, Piyush Chawla 146, Virat Kohli 83, Suneet Sharma 81, Mohammad Naved five for 118) vs Pakistan under-19 109 for six (Moin-ud-Din 53). — PTI
