Indira Gandhi award for Javed Akhtar

NEW DELHI:
Scriptwriter and lyricist Javed Akhtar has been chosen for the Indira Gandhi Award for National Integration for 2005. Congress president Sonia Gandhi will present the award on the 22nd death anniversary of Indira Gandhi on October 31.
It carries a cash prize of Rs. 1.51 lakh, besides a citation, says a release from the award advisory committee.
Among those who received this award which is into its 21st edition are President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President Shankar Dayal Sharma and the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
