VISAKHAPATNAM: A splendid double century by M. Ajay Kumar of North Zone II and his double century partnership with G.S. Manikanth for the seventh wicket, against Kadapa were the highlights of the last day of the league phase of ACA inter-zone under-17 tournament here on Sunday. Thanks to Ajay Kumar (206) and Manikanth (88 not out)and their 202-run stand, North Zone II made 419 in reply to Kadapa's first innings total of 197. In another match, N. Prudhivraj's five-wicket haul helped Visakhapatnam gain first innings lead over South Zone II in the two-day drawn match and qualify for the final. Visakhapatnam takes on Guntur from Sept. 11 to 13. The scores: Kadapa 197 and 195 for five in 55 overs (G.S. Goutham 60, J. Ashok 37, D. Dhiraj 25, R. Arun Kumar three for 59) drew with North Zone II 419 in 84.4 overs (M. Ajay Kumar 206, G. S. Manikanth 88 n.o., P. Esu Kumar 42). North Zone 2 points. Visakhapatnam 283 for eight and 156 for two in 46 overs (Prince Susan 62 n.o., L. Sravan Kumar 52 n.o., M.U.B. Sriram 37) drew with South Zone II 227 in 82.4 overs (Premsagar 57, V. Ajay Kumar 51, S.M.D. Shoeib 45, P.C. Murtuza 45, N. Prudhivraj five for 47). Visakhapatnam 2 pts.
