Kunal wins under-25 chess title

MADURAI: M. Kunal of NLC won the boys' under-25 title in the State-level chess tournament organised by Madurai District Chess Association in association with Rotary Club of Madurai South at the SDH Jain Vidyalaya MHSS, Thiruppalai, on Sunday.

The results: Boys: U-25: 1. M. Kunal 4.5/5, 2. S.S. Manigandan (Dolphin) 4.5, 3. M. Muthamil Selvam (MMM HSS) 4. U-15: 1. Ram Prasath (Akshya Vidyalaya) 3.5/5, 2. P. SZ Police posts win

South Zone Police beat MSS Wakfboard College 3-0 in the Madurai District Football Association `A' division league for the Hi-Tech Arai Trophy at the Madura College ground on Monday. All the goals came in the second session.

Saravanan (50th minute), Ravi (52nd) and Nanda (68th) scored.
