Friendly Fire claims Madras Race Club Cup

HYDERABAD: Mr. L. D'Silva, Miss Ameeta Mehra and Mr. K.S.N. Murthy's Friendly Fire (A. Imran Khan up) claimed the Madras Race Club Cup, the feature event of the races held here on Monday (Sept. 11). The winner is trained by L. D' Silva.

Fines:

In the Tick Tock Plate, jockey S. Sreekant (Chivas Gold) was fined Rs.1,000 for inept handling of his mount in the straight.

In the Paradis Plate (Div I), apprentice jockey Ashhad Asbar (Freak Fantasy) was fined Rs. 500 for shifting in immediately after the start causing interference to Dream Pal (A. Abhinay) Bold Choice (S .Sreekant) and Shine Away (app. Pramod Goud) and then shift in again after travelling a few strides in the process casing interference to Victory Moon (M.F. Ali Khan).

In the Star of Stars Cup, jockey Deep Shanker (In Vogue) was fined Rs.3,000 for dropping his hands before passing the winning post thereby losing the second place.

Jockey J.H. Christopher (Regal Image) was fined Rs.2,000 for maintaining an erratic course from about 200 metres, in the process forcing out In Vogue (Deep Shanker) at about 150 metres, then causing a check to The Bee (D Singh) on the rail in the final stages of the race.
