MUMBAI: Pankaj Advani's temperament, put to test by Yasin Merchant in the best-of-seven frames, came to the fore when it mattered the most as India's ace cueist won
Manan Chandra and Aditya Mehta were the other notable performers out of the six cueists competing in the event.
Junior National champion Mehta asserted himself in the senior ranks and grabbed a berth on the squad for the Doha Asian Games.
Rafat Habib was the sixth player in the fray, from whom the first four will be shortlisted.

Pankaj Advani 4 bt Yasin Merchant 3 (34-81(80), 88(68)-0, 65-72, 76(68)-1, 32-63, 71(60)-54, 60-52); Manan Chandra 4 bt Rafat Habib 0 (89(88)-1, 59-48, 65-33, 75(50)-0); Aditya Mehta 4 bt Rupesh Shah 2 (79-37, 1-63, 19-75, 84(63)-42, 78-39, 81-27).
