Former bureau chief of PTI dead

Hyderabad: Senior journalist and former bureau chief of Press Trust of India, Jamaluddin Ali Khan, died here on Saturday after a brief illness.

He was 62 and is survived by his wife. Khan was ailing for some time and was admitted to a private hospital here two days ago. The end came at 8.15 p.m, family sources said. Khan joined PTI, Hyderabad, in 1979 and assumed charge as bureau manager in 1993. He had earlier worked in Deccan Chronicle and Siasat dailies. He retired from PTI in 2004 after 25 years of service. The funeral will be held at Dargah Khaja Bande Nawaz in Gulburga on Sunday. — PTI
