Forensic analysis of samples from blasts site

Special correspondent

MUMBAI: Experts from the State Forensic Science Laboratory are analysing samples taken from the blasts site in Malegaon and the results will be sent soon to the police, according to Rukmini Krishnamurthy, its Director.

"Experts from Nashik and some from Mumbai went to Malegaon on Friday itself to collect various samples from the sites of the explosions," she said.

The analysis is being done in Nashik itself, said Dr. Rukmini Krishnamurthy, who is camping there. The laboratory, which had analysed the samples from the serial blasts of July 11, had concluded that the explosive was a mixture of RDX and other chemicals.

Samples collected by the police team had also been sent for analysis, she said. On Friday, two unidentified packets were found at the site of one of the blasts. Bomb disposal squad experts are trying to ascertain the contents of the packets.
