NEW DELHI: Naresh Kumar set up an intriguing quarterfinal against top-seeded Ritwik Bhattacharya, beating seasoned Shakti Singh in four games in the men's fourth round of the 54th National squash championship at the Delhi Gymkhana Club here on Thursday.

Naresh started confidently winning the first two games before Shakti rallied to take the third 9-1. In a game that saw frequent service changes, Naresh held on to a thin lead before improving on his shots to take the match.

The women's draw is turning out to be farcical by the day. The first round was scratched after a spate of walkovers and byes. The second round was no better. Of the eight matches, only four were played and the rest were walkovers.
