Jeddah : Three-time Asian champion Saudi Arabia routed India 7-1 in the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers here. India scored its first and only goal of the qualifiers in the 22nd minute through defender N.S. Manju, who capitalised on an error by Saudi goalkeeper Mohamed Khojah to make it 1-0. India made its exit without winning a single match, having already lost its games against Japan and Yemen. Sahe Bashir levelled the score within seven minutes of Manju's goal as he beat India's offside trap to score for the Saudis. The Saudis took the lead after three minutes, thanks to Eisa Al Mehiani. Bashir doubled the lead a minute after the break as he sent the ball through Indian goalkeeper Sandip Nandy followed by a solo effort from Mohamed Ameen, who scored in the 57th minute to make it 4-1. Badr Al Hagbani, substitute Ahmed Al Suwaileh and Al Suwaileh were the other scorers. UNI
