Holy Bara-ath night

The Coimbatore District Jama-ath has announced that following the sighting of the Shaban month crescent on August 25, the holy Bara-ath night would be observed on September 8 (Friday).

Prayers

A release from General Secretary of Jama-ath, M.I. Mohammed Ali, said that the members of the community would place the good and bad deeds committed by them during the previous year before the Lord and pray for the ensuing year. There will be a recital of three "yaseen" seeking long life, good health and prosperity.

Fast

On Friday, the community members would take a "sahar" in the small hours and observe a one-day fast.

The prayers on Bara-ath night would be for the peace and economic prosperity of Coimbatore, he added.
