NEW DELHI : The stewards of the Royal Western India Turf Club Limited, Pune, have suspended jockey S. Amjad Khan till September 9, 2009, for being guilty of not permitting his mount Dazzling Win to run on its merits in the Family Welfare Plate (Div. I) at the Delhi races held on April 25, 2006. Earlier, the stipendiary stewards of the Delhi Race Club had opened an enquiry into the running and riding of Dazzling Win. The authorities of the RWITC had gone through all the details related to the matter of jockey Amjad Khan and Dazzling Win before giving the punishment. The stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by trainer A. Khan in the enquiry. However, after considering the past record, they gave the trainer the benefit of doubt by letting him off with severe warning.
