SC finance body ready to aid Rs. 25-lakh projects

HYDERABAD:
The Andhra Pradesh Scheduled Castes Cooperative Finance Corporation has invited dalits to come forward with income-generating project reports to be taken up at cost of Rs. 25 lakhs for setting up industries with assistance from Government agencies.
R.D. Wilson, chairman, said in a statement that the corporation was ready to increase the cost of projects to Rs. 25 lakhs from the present Rs. 5 to 10 lakhs as it was not happy with the reports received at a two-day workshop organised recently.
He said the corporation had submitted to the Government the scheme approved by the National SC Finance Development Corporation increasing the land unit cost of an acre of land from Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1 lakh. The GO on the scheme was awaited.
