NCC Group HQ Madras `A' inspected

CHENNAI : U. N. Chitnavis, Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate (Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andaman and Nicobar), inspected the NCC Group HQ Madras `A' on Wednesday.

The group won the first position at the Thal Sainik Camp's inter-group competition held at Pollachi in June.

The girl cadets received training in shooting, map reading, obstacle course, and the theory of health, hygiene and communication to participate in the competition. They participated and won prizes in individual and group competitions pertaining to these subjects.

The selection for the Youth Exchange Programme was held at Delhi in January. Four candidates were selected from the Madras `A' group for the Exchange Programme at Singapore in August. They have received special invitations to take part in the National Day celebrations of Singapore.
