Book bank

A book bank at Shree Chandraprabhu Jain College in Minjur was inaugurated last week. The project, set up at a cost of Rs. 10 lakh, aimed at issuing textbooks to the needy students of the college.

Video lecture

Students of Rajalakshmi Engineering College were enlightened on the basics

of wavelet theory and applications through a video compression lecture by Radha, Mathematics professor from IIT.

Other topics covered in the lecture were image processing and signal processing in medical sciences.

Held for cheating

The Central Crime Branch police have arrested Saravanan of Mylapore on charges of forging signatures of a former MLA and creating fake property documents.

A release from the police said Saravanan had created a fake settlement deed with the forged signature of former MLA V. Balasubramanian

and sold the property, colluding with two others, Alexander and Siddique. Saravanan was arrested on Tuesday by the police and was remanded to judicial custody, the release

further said.
