Bus operators' protest

Kochi: The Ernakulam District Private Bus Operators' Association has taken objection to the statement of the Deputy Mayor that Vypeen-Ernakulam buses would be allowed to ply through the city. At a press conference, K.A. Makkarkunju and M.B. Sathyan, president and general secretary of the Association respectively, said the entry of Vypeen-Ernakulam buses into the city would further congest the traffic and push the bus owners into financial crisis. In fact, buses plying through the city were not able to keep their time-schedule. - Staff Reporter
