HYDERABAD : Did you know that "ego surfing" means to search the Internet for your name or Meg Whitman is the CEO of e-bay group? Well, over 800 students drawn from various schools of the twin cities knew these and answers to much more complicated questions in the Tata Consultancy Services IT Quiz organised at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Koti here on Saturday.
Pleasantly surprised
The quiz master Giri Balasubramaniam, who along with the IT team of TCS conceptualised the quiz, were pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming response from the city students. "The children here are very sharp and intelligent. We asked very complicated and tricky questions and they were well prepared for everything," said Mr. Giri. After intense quizzing, Amit Bikram Das and Abhishek Ghosh, class IX students from DAV Public School walked away with the coveted trophy, closely followed by Joyneel Acharya and Sushant Ghildyal from Army School, RK Puram as runners-up. In addition to the trophy, the winning team also won laptops from TCS while the runners-up won I-pods. The organisers informed that the winners will be taking part in the national finals of TCS IT Wiz to be held in Mumbai in December.
