Two brothers found dead in a pit

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Two brothers -Venkata Sai, 13, and Harish Prasad, 8 - who were missing since Friday evening, were found dead in a pit filled with rainwater at Saheb colony of Vanasthalipuram on Saturday.

Students of Nandi model school, Sai and Prasad were studying in seventh and third classes respectively. "Locals informed us that the two boys were found dead in a pit at Sahebnagar some two kilometres away," Vanasthalipuram Inspector M. Chandrashekhar said. There were no injuries on their bodies.

Three held

Three members of a gang, who have been allegedly stealing brass metal pieces atop domes (gopuram) of temples in Market police station area for the past few months, were caught late on Saturday night. "Though the value of the stolen metal was not high, priests and devotees took it seriously since it hurt their religious sentiments," the police said.

The Market police kept surveillance cameras near some temples and finally managed to catch them late in the night.
