HYDERABAD: Speaker K. R. Suresh Reddy adjourned the Assembly for 45 minutes on Friday when the slogan-shouting TRS members stood near the podium and disrupted the Question Hour demanding announcement of the date for a debate on implementation of GO 610. Soon after the Speaker disallowed four adjournment motions tabled by TRS, BJP, Janata Party and BSP members on different issues saying that the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) had already listed them for discussion during the current session, TRS floor leader G. Vijayarama Rao was on his feet seeking to raise the matter on implementation of GO 610.
Placards waved
Even as the Chair assured that it would be taken up early and asked him to speak when the issue was slated for discussion, several TRS legislators waved placards and raised slogans. Intervening at this stage, Minister of Legislative Affairs K. Rosaiah urged members to abide by the decision taken at the BAC meeting. Responding to certain remarks made by senior TRS member N. Narasimha Reddy, the Minister said, "If you don't want it, set it aside. We will take up other issues."
Heated exchanges
Taking objection to Mr. Rosaiah's remarks, Mr. Narasimha Reddy moved into the well leading to heated exchanges between the two. Several TRS MLAs rushed to the Speaker's podium and were seen arguing with the Chair. They raised slogans demanding an apology from Mr. Rosaiah forcing the Chair to adjourn the House. The issue subsided when the Speaker announced that it would be taken up in the next "few days" after the House re-assembled.
