Krishna issues notice

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Governor of Maharashtra S.M. Krishna has sent legal notice to two newspapers, Vijaya Karnataka and Vijay Times for publishing "defamatory statements" alleging that he had ties with the prime accused in the stamp paper case Abdul Karim Telgi.

In the notice issued on his behalf on Thursday by his lawyer Ashok Haranahalli, the former Chief Minister has alleged that the two newspapers had published reports, which were not based on any public records. The charges had been levelled against him without making any effort to ascertain the truth, he said.
