CAMPAIGN: The Deputy Inspector of General of Police, Tirunelveli range, K.C. Mahali, distributing pamphlets on road safety to tourists at Courtallam.
After inaugurating the rural-centric awareness campaign on `Road Safety' at Sankarankovil recently, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Tirunelveli Range, Kanhu Charan Mahali, continues this noble exercise in places wherever people gather in large numbers. When Mr. Mahali descended on Courtallam last Sunday with a bunch of pamphlets on road safety, it turned out to be a pleasant surprise for the tourists.
Leaflets distributed
He distributed four sets of leaflets carrying simple illustrations and messages, in a trouble-free language, on road safety to the visitors at Five Falls, Main Falls and other areas of `Spa of South'. Whenever he met youngsters during this exercise, his only appeal was `Don't drink and drive'. Considering the paucity of resources, the Deputy Inspector General has planned to rope in some insurance companies and driving schools to educate the rural masses on road safety.
