Kites lead to tripping of Metro system

NEW DELHI: While people regaled in the spirit of freedom on Independence Day by flying kites all over the Capital, for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation the strings of these kites became a major cause for concern as they led to as many as 43 incidents of "tripping" on coming in contact with the overhead electric wires of the Metro system.

On Tuesday, he said, there were 26 incidents of tripping on the Shahdara-Rithala Line I, while 16 such incidents were reported till about 6 in the evening on the Barakhamba-Dwarka Line III.
