CHENNAI: Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi on Tuesday released the commemorative postage stamp issued by the Department of Posts on freedom fighter and Tamil scholar M.P. Sivagnanam, endearingly known as Ma.Po.Si to several of his admirers.
Receives first album
Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Dayanidhi Maran received the first album. Mr. Karunanidhi also unveiled an enlarged version of the stamp at the conference hall of Namakkal Kavignar Maligai here, shortly after making an announcement in his Independence Day address from Fort St. George about the Centre's decision to release the stamp on Ma.Po.Si. Information Minister Parithi Ilamvazhuthi, Postal Board Member Vatsala Raghu and grandchildren of Ma.Po.Si. were present.
