Quack held

VILLUPURAM: The Auroville police on Tuesday arrested M. Varadharajan, a quack running a clinic at Thiruchitrambalam Cross Road for three years.

The police said they had received many complaints against Varadharajan from the patients.

On enquiry, it was found that he had only Plus-Two qualification, whereas he posed himself as an M.D. (Doctor of Medicines).

The police arrested him under Sections 419 and 420 (cheating) of IPC, and seized his medical equipment and medicines.
