Youngster hacked to death

Staff Reporter

Three persons attack him with knives and swords on the road

HYDERABAD: Three unidentified persons hacked to death a wine shop partner Nani, 25, near Motinagar Crossroads of S.R. Nagar on Thursday night. The murder on the main road created panic in the area, forcing local businessmen to down their shutters.

The victim started from his shop in Vinayakraonagar of Borabanda on his motorcycle, reportedly after receiving a call on his mobile phone.

He was nearing Motinagar junction when three persons intercepted his vehicle and attacked him with knives and swords.

The attackers walked away as the youngster collapsed in a pool of blood.

When some bystanders approached, with much difficulty Nani gave them the phone numbers of his relatives and fell unconscious. He was shifted to Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences where he died while undergoing treatment after a couple of hours.

Police suspect the homicide was fallout of business rivalry. "The fact that Nani's opponents, with whom he earlier had a conflict, closed their shop soon after he was murdered and went underground raises suspicions of their possible involvement," Panjagutta ACP Gopal Raju said.
