Big win for Tiruvallur

THENI: A century by Abarajith (111), an unbeaten 89 by his twin brother Indrajith and six-wicket haul by Thatojwel helped Tiruvallur register a massive 240-run victory over Krishnagiri in the TNCA inter-District under-13 cricket tournament here on Monday.

In another match, Tiruvannamalai defeated Ramanathapuram by four wickets.

Erode and Namakkal districts topped the E-Zone table and qualified for the second stage at Erode on Sunday.

The scores: At Erode: Erode DCA 152 in 49.3 overs (Praveen four for 21) bt Namakkal DCA 64 in 21.3 overs (K. Ramu three for five); Kanyakumari DCA 101 in 38.4 overs (M. Uthis three for 22) lost to Thoothukudi DCA 102 for eight in 43.2 overs.

At Katpadi: Salem DCA 192 for 9 in 50 overs (K. Gowtham Raj 54) bt Perambalur DCA 92 in 26 overs (S.R. Ramachandar four for 18, A. Myilsamy three for 21); Vellore DCA 130 in 48.4 overs (A. Myilsamy three for 37, S.I. Vasudevan three for 12) bt Salem DCA 84 in 28.4 overs (Ganesh four for 17); Villupuram DCA 36 in 18 overs (K. Gowtham Raj eight for 15) lost to Salem DCA 37 for no loss in 11 overs (Salem qualifies for next stage).

Tiruvallur 307 in 50 overs (Abarajith 111, Indrajith 89 not out) bt Krishnagiri 67 in 25 overs (Thatojwel six for 12).

Ramanathapuram 37 in 18.4 overs (Dinakaran four for 10) lost to Tiruvannamalai 38 for six in 14 overs.

At Tirunelveli: Sivaganga 134 for six in 50 overs bt Cuddalore 110 in 37.2 overs (Sai Prasad four for 16).

Karur 22 in 16.1 overs (Vishal five for 10) lost to Kanchi 23 without loss in 4.4 overs.
