Jammu lawyers continue strike
Jammu:
For the fourth day on Saturday members of the Jammu Bar Association (JBA) continued their strike demanding the transfer of the sex racket case from Srinagar.
Hundreds of them staged a demonstration on Janipur Road near the High Court complex here and burnt effigies of Kashmir Bar Association president Abdul Qayoom, who said the JBA demand was "unjustified." They blocked the road for over an hour.
The JBA has been demanding the transfer of the high-profile case so that the accused can get a "fair trial in a secure environment."
It has also opposed the Kashmir Bar Association's ban on lawyers representing any of the accused. PTI
