Chandigarh:
Amritsar in Punjab came under the grip of intense heat on Saturday recording a maximum of 42.6 degrees Celsius, the Meteorological Department said here.
Ludhiana also braved a hot day at 39.2 degree C and Ambala at 39 degree C.
Sultry conditions prevailed in Chandigarh, which was lashed by heavy rains and storm Friday, and maximum settled at 38.8 degree C today.
A young man was electrocuted when a high tension power line snapped in Mohali district yesterday after heavy rain and storm lashed the area. In Himachal Pradesh, Shimla recorded a maximum of 24.3 C. PTI
