Sahil Zaroo granted bail

Staff Reporter

Asked to surrender passport and remain in Delhi

NEW DELHI : A special court here on Monday granted bail to Sahil Zaroo, co-accused with Rahul Mahajan in the drug abuse case, stating that "there was no justifiable reason to decline bail to him after Mr. Mahajan was granted one."

Special Judge N.K. Gupta ordered Sahil's release on bail upon his furnishing a bond for Rs. 2 lakh with a surety of like amount. He directed Sahil not to tamper with evidence or approach witnesses. He was also asked to surrender his passport within a day of his release to the court concerned and not to leave Delhi and the country without its permission till the charge sheet was filed. However, the judge made it clear that in case of a warrant, he would inform the investigating officer in the drug abuse case about it.
