ISO certification for reservation centre

CHENNAI:
The computer reservation centre at the Moore Market Complex here has received ISO 9001/2000 certification.
This is the first computerised reservation centre of the railways to receive the certification, says an official.
The certificate was handed over to General Manager Thomas Varghese by the Register Quality System, authorised certifying agency, at a function held here on Friday.
Professionalism
The certification is expected to bring about professionalism at the centre and institutionalise international standards of working.
As part of the efforts to tone up customer service at the centre, a real time reservation guidance system was installed to help the customer watch in the LED display, in front of the counter, the details of journey as entered by counter staff in the computer. This will facilitate hassle-free transaction.
