State to help Centre set up food parks

BANGALORE: The Government is ready to extend all support, including providing land for setting up food parks in the State as desired by the Centre, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy said here on Monday. He told presspersons that he would welcome the setting up food parks in Belgaum, Hassan, Kolar or Bangalore Rural District or any other place where the Centre deemed fit.

Mr. Kumaraswamy had asked Agriculture Minister Bandeppa Kashempur to take steps ion this regard. Mr. Kumaraswamy said that he had spoken to Union Agriculture Ministry for releasing sufficient quantity of fertilizers for distributing among farmers. He said that the senior leaders of the Janata Dal (S) would discuss the strategy for securing the required support for getting its fourth candidate elected to the Legislative Council. The meeting would also decide on whether any whip should be issued to the party MLAs.
