Cases being foisted on cadre: Vaiko

Special Correspondent

Welcomes move on quota for OBCs

CHENNAI : Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Vaiko on Thursday charged that false cases were being foisted on the MDMK and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam cadres.

He was talking to presspersons after welcoming K.S.Radhakrishnan, who left the MDMK to join the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in 2001, back to the party fold at the party headquarters here. Mr.Vaiko said that though Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi had promised that there would be no witch hunting against the Opposition, the assurance did not translate into action. His party men were, however, not afraid of facing the foisted cases.

The MDMK leader welcomed the move to introduce 27 per cent reservation for the backward classes.

He was of the opinion that this should be done at an early date and the creamy layer criterion should not be applied.
