Power shutdown

Power supply will be suspended in parts of Anna Salai including Sivakasam Street, Dr. Govindan Street, Ritchie Street, Guruvappa Street and Usmankhan Street between 9 a.m and 5 p.m on Friday, for maintenanve work.

EB office shifted

The Mangadu section office of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board and its bill collection centre will be shifted to the newly opened 33/11 kv Kovoor sub-station situated on the Porur-Kundrathur main road with effect from Friday, says a release from the TNEB.

U.K. varsity team visit

Representatives from the University of Bradford will meet students aspiring to study abroad on May 27 at Mancomp Professional Services (9, Montieth Lane, Egmore). `Zero defect' workshop

Yoga course

Water forum meet

Citizens Water Forum will meet at the CPR Centre on Eldams Road, Alwarpet, on May 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants will discuss the forum's goals and activities and plan a campaign to oppose the proposed desalination plant for Chennai.

Pulse polio immunisation

New College's NCC cadets, led by Company Commander Zahid Hussain, assisted in the second phase of pulse polio immunisation campaign held on May 21. The cadets covered Triplicane, Royapettah, Pudupakkam and parts of Mount Road and also went on house visits.

Medical camp planned

The Srinivasa Young Men's Association will hold a diabetes medical camp for the poor on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. at SYMA Medical Centre on T.P. Koil Street (opposite Bharatiyar's house). Free eye camp

The Hindu Mission Hospital held a free eye camp at Kadaperi in West Tambaram on Wednesday. About 120 patients were screened and 30 referred for free surgery.
