CHENNAI: They have a lot in common. They started early, stayed focussed and dreamt big. Three students from Chennai and one from Krishnagiri emerged toppers in the Higher Secondary (Plus Two) Examinations conducted in March this year. Attributing their success to parents and teachers, they shared their strategy, future plan and, of course, joy. V. Bharathram, of Prince Matriculation, Nanganallur, secured the first rank with a total of 1,180 out of 1,200. S. Santhaprakash and T.C. Viveksandeep, both from D.A.V. Gopalapuram obtained the second rank with 1,179. G. Banupriya from Sri Vidya Mandir, Uthangarai (Krishnagiri) scored 1,177. For Bharathram, who aspires to get into IIT inspiration came from home. "After my engineering, I want to pursue management in one of the IIMs," he says. Viveksandeep is all set for a career in medicine. Santhaprakash plans to pursue engineering in a reputed institution. N. Kavya, a commerce student of Sri Ahobilamutt, Chennai, who scored 1,186 with centums in commerce, accountancy and mathematics aspires to be a chartered accountant.
