Sepeng banned

JOHANNESBURG: South Africa's star athlete Hezekiel Sepeng, the 1996 Atlanta Olympic men's 800m silver medallist, will be banned from any competition until May, 2007 for taking prohibited substance last year, it was announced on Monday.

Athletics South Africa (ASA) announced that Sepeng, 31, has been found guilty of having committed a doping offence and has been declared ineligible to participate in any competition for two years. . — Xinhua
