Passenger detained

NEDUMBASSERY: Emigration officials at the Cochin International Airport on Thursday detained a passenger on the charge of possessing forged passport.

Abdul Rahiman (28), hailing from Karnataka, was detained when he arrived here by the Qatar Airways flight, QR 264. According to sources, he was carrying the passport of a Kasargod resident forged by replacing the cover page. Reportedly, his sponsor reneged on a promised job and he was forced to do a much inferior work. Later, his passport wasn't returned when he expressed the desire to return home, it is learnt.
