Kunhalikutty for new IUML leadership
Staff Reporter
MALAPPURAM:
The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) leader P.K. Kunhalikutty, who quit his post as State general secretary of the party following the party's defeat in the recent Assembly elections, said here on Thursday that he would prefer a new leadership to guide the party.
He said here on Monday that the party had several men capable of excellent leadership. They should be given charge of guiding the party to new heights, he said.
Mr. Kunhalikutty said the decision to step down after the defeat was a collective one among the top leaders, including treasurer E. Ahamed. He said Mr. Ahamed's paper from New Delhi must have taken some time to reach party president Syed Mohammedali Shihab Thangal.
