IRDA on approved investments

MUMBAI: The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDA) has declared the Hybrid Instruments allowed for capital augmentation by banks as "Approved Investments" for purposes of Sec. 27A and 27B of the Insurance Act, 1938, subject to conditions including rating obtained by the instruments and prescribed ceilings.
