Preparation camp from today

Chennai: The second phase in the preparation of the Indian team for the Azlan Shah hockey tournament at Kuala Lumpur begins at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium on Friday (May 19).

Twenty-six players, who trained at the conditioning camp at Bangalore from May 1, will take part. The team will be announced on May 25.

Chief coach, V. Baskaran said the fitness camp at Bangalore had done the players a world of good. He also added that Dilip Tirkey and Gagan Ajit Singh, who are figuring in the Dutch league now, would be joining the camp on Friday.

Drag flicker Sandeep Singh is likely to join a few days later.
